The HR Generalist will be responsible for providing consultation and coordination of services regarding HR operations, programs, systems, employee relations and compliance issues.

  • Enforce and support all corporate programs and compliance related activities
  • Assist supervisors and managers by providing solutions to workplace situations
  • Assist with investigations for employee concerns, performance matters and other issues
  • Assist with administration of the collective bargaining agreement
  • Use HR systems to compile and prepare reports on various information
  • Administer job postings, recruitment and workforce planning processes
  • Coordinate and conduct orientation, education and training
  • Develop, implement and manage effective strategies to grow the employer brand
  • Build and leverage external relationships with community organizations and other associations or agencies to develop talent pipelines
  • Leverage immigration opportunities to fill vacancies and support immigrants through their transition to moving to and living in the area
  • Administer benefits programs
  • Organize and attend special events (internal and external)
  • Maintain confidentiality in all areas of responsibility
  • Other HR duties as necessary

  • Ability to see a task through from start to finish and hold yourself accountable for deliverables while managing multiple competing demands
  • Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills, dedicated to bringing new ideas and perspectives



  • Very strong computer skills
  • Knowledge of industrial work settings and with a unionized workforce considered an asset
