Maibec CanExel has been in business for over 55 years and has a workforce of approximately 180 employees in our East River facility.
Maibec CanExel is located in East River, Nova Scotia (just outside of Hubbards). The location is 1 minute off Exit 7 from Highway #103, making it an easy commute of approximately 30 minutes from Bayers Lake or Bridgewater.
We are currently expanding our operations team. Production / Equipment Operators are an integral part of our team and are leaders in safe practices.
Our starting rate of pay in this position is a minimum of 21.58/hr. After training, you can earn up to $25.94/hr by the end of your first year and up to $32.43/hr by the end of your second year. We also offer an additional $1.25/hr for shift premium when working on night shift. Successful candidates will be trained in various positions within our manufacturing facility including but not limited to:
- Operating vehicles & equipment
- Operating production line equipment
- Equipment cleaning and preventative maintenance
- Quality control
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Ability and desire to work varying shifts – 8-hour shifts, 12-hour shifts, days, nights, weekends, holidays
Skills
- Experience working in an industrial environment would be considered an asset
- Forklift and/or heavy equipment operator experience would be considered an asset
