Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the MCIP Business Development Director, the Sales Specialist – Maibec Architectural Products plays a key role in demand creation and sales development within their territory. The focus is on Maibec Architectural products sold through the MCIP route (Multifamily, Commercial, and Institutional, with a project-based sales approach). This role involves collaborating with key influencers such as architects, general contractors, installers, and developers.

Business and Sales Development

  • Identify and target business opportunities within the assigned territory.
  • Promote Maibec Architectural products to potential and existing customers, with a focus on MCIP projects.
  • Ensure the achievement of sales and growth targets.

Demand Creation and Management

  • Collaborate with architects, general contractors, installers, and developers to integrate Maibec Architectural products into project specifications.
  • Organize and lead presentations, training sessions, and events to raise awareness of the Maibec Architectural offering among key influencers.

Project and Customer Support

  • Support clients throughout the project lifecycle, from design to completion.
  • Respond to technical inquiries and provide tailored solutions for project needs.
  • Ensure excellent customer satisfaction through rigorous follow-ups.

Interdepartmental Collaboration

  • Work closely with internal teams (marketing, product development, operations, etc.) to support sales initiatives.
  • Provide market feedback and trend insights to help improve products and services.

Strategic Monitoring and Reporting

  • Conduct competitive intelligence to stay informed about market developments and competitor actions.
  • Generate regular reports on sales performance and business development activities.

Qualifications

  • The candidate must be located in Eastern Ontario.
  • University or college degree in business administration, sales, or a related field, or a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar business development or sales role, ideally in the building, construction materials, or architectural project sectors.
  • Experience in managing relationships with key influencers such as architects, developers, and general contractors.
  • Strong understanding of construction products and materials, particularly in MCIP projects (Multifamily, Commercial, Institutional).
  • Familiarity with architectural project specification and management processes.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain strong business relationships.
  • Excellent negotiation and persuasion skills.
  • Results-oriented mindset with the ability to achieve (or exceed) sales targets.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (French and English, depending on the market).
  • Ability to deliver compelling presentations to diverse audiences.
  • Capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously with shifting priorities.
  • Autonomy and proactivity in handling business development activities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with various stakeholders (internal and external).
  • Availability to travel regularly within the assigned territory.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Strong proficiency with IT tools (CRM, Microsoft Office suite, project management tools).
  • Familiarity with platforms or software used by architects and designers (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, etc., if applicable).
  • In-depth knowledge of the architectural products or construction materials market.
  • Established network among key industry players (architects, contractors, developers).
